Google Docs and Spreadsheets looks pretty cool from the last time I logged in. There’s folders, and an explorer-like navigation which makes it easier to sort files. And just recently, new features have been launched.

New Features in Google Docs and Spreadsheets include:

  • Organize your documents with folders
  • Easier invitations
  • New keyboard shortcuts
  • Right to left text support

Now here’s an interesting gadget. It’s the ASUS Eee PC. It runs a version of Intel’s 910 mobile chipset, uses a 900MHz Intel Dothan based Pentium M CPU, has 512MB of DDR2 memory, full 802.11g wireless capability, and a flash-based hard drive. There will be at least two different models of the Eee PC, with the $199 version using a 4GB flash hard drive and the $299 version using a 8GB drive. This cutie is about 2lbs! Read more about it in the sources below.

Facebook vs. Myspace

Posted in Planet at 12:07 pm by daynah

True or not, I find this article, Facebook vs. Myspace Users quite entertaining. I do stay connected with my college friends on Facebook, and high school and elementry friends on Myspace. But I think that’s because Facebook was only opened to college users in the previous years.

AT&T, Apple, and the iPhone

Posted in Planet at 11:46 am by daynah

We knew that Cingular had plans for the iPhone, but now it’s AT&T’s turn. I’m waiting for Verizon! :)

AT&T Inc. and Apple® today announced three simple, affordable service plans for iPhone™ which start at just $59.99 per month. All three plans include unlimited data, Visual Voicemail, 200 SMS text messages, roll-over minutes and unlimited mobile-to-mobile calling. With everything else already included, iPhone customers can easily choose the plan that’s right for them based on the amount of voice minutes they plan to use each month. In addition, iPhone customers can choose from any of AT&T’s standard service plans. -Read more..

phparch RIA class

Posted in Planet at 2:28 am by lig

Well I have been attending the phparch RIA class for a little bit now and I have to say I like it. Without giving too much away I will say the class is informative and relaxed, Paul works hard to interact with the class on an individual basis, and we cover some really cool stuff. The code we write for examples and homework is relevant and scary as it sounds – fun. Paul stresses security and shows us where to watch for potential performance problems saving us from making the beginners mistakes.

I am almost done with the class and while I will not miss the 2AM wake up (I am on the other side of the world – hate those timezones) when it is finished I will be glad that I did it. Thank you Paul for making learning and experimenting with something so new to me this easy and enjoyable.

So while I didn’t pay for the class out of my own pocket (work did) – for me it is well worth the money and I know I will not hesitate in the future about taking another one on my own dime.

Wordpress 2.2.1

Posted in Planet at 5:18 am by daynah

WordpressHow funny… I just finished upgrading all my blogs to WP 2.2 a few days ago, and now WP 2.2.1 is out. heh

WordPress 2.2.1 is now available. 2.2.1 is a bug fix release for the 2.2 series. Since 2.2 was released a month ago, the WordPress community has been improving fit-and-finish by identifying and fixing those little bugs that can be so annoying and by fine-tuning some small details. The result is a nicely polished 2.2.1 release. The full list of bugs fixed in 2.2.1 is available here. Here are some highlights.

Full Code Press Logo

Now this is my type of Olympics! I found a website called Full Code Press which is a competition to buy a website within 24 hours. Pretty neat.

What is FullCodePress?

It’s a geek Olympics! Web teams take each other on to build a complete website for a non-profit organization in 24 hours. No excuses, no extensions, no budget overruns.
