Planet Syndication

Posted in News at 11:04 pm by Elizabeth Marie Smith

We have a new item here at phpwomen - we now have a feed aggregator. Posts from other people’s blogs will all be placed in the “planet” category.

If you’re interested in having your php/computer related blog posts syndicated here at phpwomen start by signing up for a blog user account (eventually we’d like to mesh the blog and forum user accounts but that hasn’t been finished yet) - then send a private message in the forum to auroraeosrose, lig, or reische and we’ll add your blog feed into our planet list.

We’re using the feedwordpress plugin. You will need to “ping” us by adding our url to the list of URI’s that get pinged on update. (See, for example, Options –> Writing –> Update Services in WordPress, or Configuration –> Preferences –> Publicity / Remote Interfaces / TrackBack in Movable Type.)

http://www.phpwomen.org/wordpress/xmlrpc.php is our ping url - otherwise you’ll have to wait until a manual update. Thanks!

I am new to the forum and so glad to have found you. I dabble with scripts and enjoy playing but don’t really understand PHP that much. I am hoping to learn and maybe have it finally sink in where it doesn’t compute!

But actually, in regards to the RSS — I cannot figure out the correct URL to add it to my feed reader. I am using Wizz RSS 2.1.9 in Firefox browser. I’d love to have it so I can keep up with the info that you’re providing.

    Thanks all!
